Collar Instructions

Supplies:

¼ yd. Vinyl

Thread to match

1 ¼ yards- 9/32 upholstery cording

2" Velcro

Leather machine needle

Optional- fabric for lining

Read instructions carefully.

You might want to check the size to see if the D piece needs to be made longer for larger necks. You could make a test collar out of scrap fabric to check size.

Cut out 2 of each pattern pieces and also a 2" wide strip the width of the vinyl.

Seam allowances are ½".

Sew ‘A’ pieces together, then topstitch the seams open. Continue to attach the rest of the pieces together following layout example 1.

Put collar aside.

Place upholstery cording on the inside center of the 2" wide strip along the length of the vinyl. Fold vinyl over cording and stitch together. See example 2.

Attach this trim to the top edge of the collar and after stitching turn under and topstitch. The trim for the lower edge has to be eased around the collar point. See example 3.

To finish the collar place Velcro at the back of the collar between the trims.
